Musings in Malaysia

Ang kulit... namin sa Malaysia! Sobrang aliw traveling together with Odick, Paolo and Evita. We went to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to attend the SouthEast Asia Account Management Workshop. It was a weekender trip, from May5-6,2007.

We took the budget flights from Subic. Flying with Air Asia Airline...Aba, there's another part of the world pala, na qualified pa rin ako maging Stewardess! Am I so mean? ;) Hindi sila kagandahan, just overdose of eyeliners. Aliw, instead of serving you snacks, there's a menu, in front of you, and they literally take your orders, and you pay them for the food. Wawa... Pero, ok naman. Value for your money, considering we only paid 5k per pax ata for the roundtrip to KL. Eh, sa KLM airlines, 20K per pax yung round trip!

Airport of KL is more than 1 hour away from the city proper. Going there, panay palm trees makikita mo sa daan, and the ubiquitous proton cars. Proton is a national brand of Malaysian cars. Papasok sa city, I scanned the skyline for a view of the most famous landmark in KL, Petronas Tower. Taas nya ha. They look like 2 huge hats. It used to be the highest building in Southeast Asia. It's owned by Petronas, the national oil company of Malaysia. Buti pa sila! May oil..
Weird ng oras sa Malaysia. They don't follow the timezones of Southeast Asia. Imagine, it's already 7pm, the sun is still shining like it's 2pm! Sunrise nila halos 7am na! Sobrang weird ang feeling namin ni odick. Parang.. hey, dapat antok na tayo! ba't tirik pa ang araw?

If there's one thing i love malaysia -- it's the food! Ang sarap, not too spicy like Thai and not too sweet like Filipino cuisine. It's just the right! Unforgetable yung Chicken thighs. Marinated for years, grilled to perfection, and glazed with honey. saka sobrang mura. I mean, you can feed seafoods for 6, and you pay less than 2,000 pesos! Katuwa dun kasi there are still single digit pricing in their menus. Like 5RM, 3RM, So Cheap! Masarap din yung breakfast fare nila called Nasi Lemak. It's spicy something that you eat with curried chicken or beef.
Joke of the day ni Odick: Muslims don't eat pork, they eat chicken and beef. Hindu Don't eat beef, they consider cow sacred, hindu eat chicken and pork. Filipinos? They eat chicken, beef, pork, muslims and hindus. Very Funny!
We stayed in PNB Darby, a serviced condotel behind Nu skin WIC. Our apartment unit is really nice. There's a kitchen, a huge sala with a home theater. Two rooms each with TV sets, bathrooms with tubs. We enjoyed lounging around that place!
General Impressions:
